About The Position

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Integration Engineer to join our team! In this role, you will serve as an advanced Remote Pilot in Command and design, build, test, and operate UAS test platforms, command and control links, and experimental payloads in support of U.S. Government Counter Unmanned Aircraft System (CUAS) testing and missions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (or related field) and 5+ years experience or at least 9 years of related work experience
  • FAA Part 107 required
  • Ability to work alone or within a group.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic mechanical understanding; experience working with tools.
  • Basic understanding of RF theory; experience with communications, GPS, and electronic countermeasures systems is highly desired.
  • UAS incident reporting
  • FAA/flight coordination
  • FAA Low Altitude Authorization and Notification (LAANC) system
  • Ability to travel up to 30%, including overseas and high-threat environments.
  • An active Secret security clearance is required for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee engineering products that meet customer quality standards, including problem definition, work scope, budgeting, scheduling, planning, technical direction, and status reporting.
  • Create detailed calculations, drawings, procurement documents, design packages, technical reports, and analyses.
  • Provide technical guidance to CAD designers, drafters, and junior engineers, ensuring design documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with standards.
  • Conduct requirements analysis, interface definition, and system validation.
  • Identify and recommend emerging UAS technologies and solutions for evaluation.
  • Assist with installation, configuration, testing, maintenance, and operation of systems such as electronic warfare systems, radars, and EO/IR cameras.
  • Build, fly, test, and repair various Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS).
  • Support Counter-UAS (C-UAS) demonstrations, testing, evaluations, and training.
  • Conduct UAS operations in diverse environments to meet C-UAS requirements, including flying test articles to simulate threat profiles.
  • Plan UAS missions using mission planning software and instruct rotary-wing certified personnel on fixed-wing operations.
  • Maintain flight logs, enter data into the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), and complete After-Action Reports (AARs) post-flight.
