About The Position
Savannah State University seeks qualified applicants for these positions. Head Tutor/Mentor Manager and Tutor/Mentor Resident Assistant positions are summer-live in full time/temporary; Room/Board furnished. Tutor/Mentors perform dual roles as Resident Assistants and Teaching Assistants in Science, English, Math, Foreign Language, (Spanish/French) Social Studies, Art, Computer Technology, Photography, and Illustration. Head Tutor/Mentor Managers are responsible for the overall supervision of the resident assistant staff and students. May be directed to perform job related tasks other than those specifically delineated in this description.
Requirements
- Relevant academic background that reflects a commitment to academic excellence ( GPA of 3.0 or above), and have completed college sophomore year.
- Must be able to meet a rigorous schedule of program activities and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Head Tutor/ Mentor Managers and Tutor/Mentor resident assistants cannot be enrolled in summer classes or employed elsewhere.
Nice To Haves
- Preference given to candidates from low-income and first generation college student backgrounds.
