About The Position

Beyond Education (an AIM company) is looking for people who are not just proficient at tutoring, but excellent at it! We work with students in 1-on-1 and small group settings to help them have that 'Aha!' moment. We are focused on Mentorship not just tutoring; this means that developing a trusting relationship with the student and family is just as important as being able to explain a subject in a variety of ways. If you are someone who loves tutoring and can adapt different teaching methods to fit the student's needs then we would love to connect with you! High School Mentor You will be expected to create the content for each session and collaborate with students and their families to meet mentorship needs.

Requirements

• Two years of content-specific tutoring or teaching experience
• Demonstrates content knowledge for the particular subject
• Exhibits both personable and professional communication skills with both kids and adults

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree or pursuing one
• Texas teaching certification from the SBEC (Special Education preferred)
• Has a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle to travel to sessions in the San Antonio area

Responsibilities

• Be reasonably available for Mentoring Sessions; both in-person and online
• Be prepared for each Mentoring Session; with lesson plans and/or session materials
• Use best efforts to provide the tutoring and/or educational services in a workmanlike and quality manner
• Use best efforts to secure a suitable replacement if Contractor is unable to attend a scheduled Mentoring Session
• Inform Beyond of the occurrence, location, date, and duration of each Mentoring Session between Contractor and Client
• Refer immediately to Beyond any inquiry from Client or any Client referral regarding tutoring and/or educational services
• Inform Beyond immediately of any Client complaint, Client dispute or disagreement
• Attend monthly Beyond meeting as designated by Beyond Administrator(s)
• Maintain Confidentiality of Beyond Education and its clients
• Submit documentation as needed
• Perform additional duties and accept other responsibilities as may be assigned
