Trucking Dispatcher - Feed & Grain

About The Position

We are seeking a Dispatcher to support daily operations for a feed & grain trucking fleet. This role focuses on driver communication, load scheduling and route coordination in a fast-paced environment. Experience in trucking, logistics, or agricultural operations is highly preferred. Base pay range for this position is between $70,000-$75,000/year. In addition to the base salary range presented, this position will be incentive-eligible with a target of 10%.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience as a dispatcher or similar role
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Must be detail oriented with a focus on accuracy and problem solving.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment and handle stressful situations.
  • Ability to use discretion and handle sensitive/confidential information.
  • Must have the ability to get along with co-workers, management personnel, customers, vendors and employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in trucking, logistics, or agricultural operations is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating the schedule of truck drivers to ensure shipments are picked up and delivered in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining communication with drivers throughout their shift to monitor progress and troubleshoot problems, and relaying information to the sales team and operations.
  • Ensure accurate trip records are recorded in the Transportation Management System.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
  • Addressing customer concerns or questions related to shipment and resolving any issues or complaints in a timely and professional manner.
  • Work with Truck Shop to ensure all trucks are up to date with any inspections, maintenance, and/or repairs.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve logistics processes to increase efficiency and productivity.
  • Participates in analysis and review of operating performance.
  • Monitor and track fleet movements using software and systems for better planning.
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to meet their specific transportation needs.
  • Manage a high volume of phone calls and emails throughout the day with proper and timely responses as needed.
  • Able to participate in periodic work schedules that can include weekend or traditional shift work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
