About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Level II Diesel Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will take on more complex diagnostics and repairs while mentoring Level I mechanics. Your experience will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and safety of our fleet.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in diesel mechanics preferred.
• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience as a diesel mechanic.
• Level II certification in diesel mechanics or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, fuel systems, electrical systems, and hydraulics.
• Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong leadership skills.
• Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred.
• Perform physical tasks, including climbing, standing, sitting, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and crouching.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment up to 80 lbs.
• Comfortable working in various environments, including outdoor and indoor settings.
• Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on diesel engines and related systems.
• Conduct thorough routine maintenance and inspections, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
• Oversee and mentor Level I mechanics and apprentices, providing training and support.
• Lead the identification and resolution of mechanical issues, improving overall shop efficiency.
• Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance, and parts used.
• Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding repair needs and progress.
• Ensure the work area is safe, organized, and equipped with the necessary tools and equipment.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance repair processes and team performance.
