This position will travel to locations in a company service truck to perform preventative maintenance and inspections on company rolling assets. Must be able to identify and flag critical preventative repair work in order to keep equipment operating safely. Will also be responsible for final DOT inspection and clearance for equipment to return to the field. The position is a year-round position. The Role: Draining the oil from a vehicle and replacing it to manufacturer specifications Topping off other fluids, including power steering and windshield washer fluid Inspecting the engine block and underbody for leaks and potential issues Checking tire pressure and filling tires with air as needed to manufacturer specifications Installing parts, such as air filters, oil filters, windshield wipers and batteries Lubricating moving parts as necessary, including wheel bearings Diagnosing existing issues and consulting with lead mechanics to address the vehicles issues Time management and organizational skills as well as hand-eye coordination Must be a team player and follow directions, and guidance from management Overnight travel is possible on a rare occasion Other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • An aptitude for mechanical diagnosis and repair
  • Demonstrated experience with servicing vehicles
  • Class B CDL
  • Clean MVR record
  • Obtain Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspector certification within 1 year
  • Individuals who work safely and have the courage to speak up if you see unsafe behavior or conditions.
  • Time management and organizational.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Responsibilities
