About The Position

JVCKENWOOD USA Corporation sells electronics and entertainment products in the USA in four main sectors: Automotive, Public Service, Media Services, and Healthcare. The company has offices in Long Beach, CA; Irving, TX; Wayne, NJ; and numerous other U.S. locations. This position is located in Long Beach, CA, and is hybrid, requiring in-office work 2 to 3 days per week. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the role involves performing a full range of advanced and complex financial and professional duties that require considerable independent judgment, confidentiality, analytical ability, interpersonal relationship skills, and an in-depth knowledge of Company policies and operations.

Requirements

  • Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Five or more years work experience in an Accounting or Finance work environment.
  • Possess highly developed communication and organization skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks by using time management skills.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to all levels of management.
  • Investigates problems or questions in finance and sales/business tax areas.
  • Has a natural curiosity and desire to improve processes.
  • Communicates with banks and staff timely and accurately to assure compliance.
  • Assists Finance Manager in managing projects and in achieving optimum time management.

Responsibilities

  • Assist and support Finance Manager with daily corporate cash funding and cash management.
  • Check and record incoming payments from customers and affiliates and then distribute information to various departments.
  • Assist with customer payment or banking system issues.
  • Create and update various reports and analyses related to cash, collections, and financial statements.
  • Initiate payment requests to various vendors, states and federal agencies.
  • Assist Finance department with all necessary audit confirmation requests and schedules.
  • Prepare Journal Entries related to cash, sales tax, and adjustments.
  • Prepare data files for external tax preparer and review/analyze monthly sales tax returns.
  • Maintain business tax and license accounts.
  • Prepare external compliance reports as required.
  • Effectively communicate information to various departments, auditors, banks, etc.
  • Assist with various duties in the absence of the Finance Manager.
  • Performs other ad-hoc tasks and analyses as requested by management team.
