Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse for a travel assignment in Torrance, California. This role supports a high-volume Labor & Delivery unit managing both low and high-risk obstetric patients, including complex antepartum and postpartum cases. POSITION OVERVIEW This assignment is ideal for L&D nurses with strong high-risk obstetrics experience who are comfortable managing deliveries, surgical cases, and postpartum care in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years Labor & Delivery experience REQUIRED (HARD STOP)
- High-risk OB experience REQUIRED
- Previous travel experience REQUIRED
- Active California RN license REQUIRED (must be in hand)
- ACLS, BLS, NRP REQUIRED
- AWHONN Advanced REQUIRED (HARD STOP) OR C-EFM accepted
- Epic charting experience REQUIRED (HARD STOP)
- Ability to manage 1:2 patient ratios
- Must be comfortable with cesarean sections and recovery
- Must be able to float to Mother/Baby and other Providence facilities
- Must meet 50-mile radius rule
- Locals accepted at lower rate
- RTO must be submitted with application
- Must be willing to work weekends and holidays as required
Responsibilities
- Manage laboring patients including high-risk obstetric cases
- Circulate and recover cesarean sections
- Perform fetal monitoring and interpret fetal heart tracings
- Administer medications including magnesium sulfate, Pitocin, and antihypertensives
- Assist with vaginal deliveries and emergency interventions
- Provide newborn stabilization and immediate care
- Support postpartum recovery and patient education
- Document care in Epic EMR
