Under general guidance from the Chief Nursing Officer, the primary responsibility of the Trauma Program Manager is the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the trauma program in accordance with the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma for a Level 3 trauma program. The Trauma Program Manager also manages the Trauma Registrars, Trauma Coordinators, and oversees clinical and administrative aspects of the care of ill and injured surgical patient. The role involves ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, departmental policies and procedures, mission and value statements, and hospital core beliefs, while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety, and managing trauma program staff. The Trauma Program Manager collaborates with hospital leaders within and outside of the trauma program team, develops strategic goals, and promotes a healthy and efficient work environment.
