Transportation Operations Technician I - Temporary
About The Position
The Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) is hiring seasonal Transportation Operations Technicians to support highway maintenance and operations in Clarendon. This hands-on role involves a variety of tasks that keep Vermont’s roads safe and reliable. Seasonal staff also play a critical role in plowing and salting during winter weather events. This is a temporary position, typically for variable hours and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week. Multiple positions in the same work location may be filled from this job posting.
Requirements
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old
- A valid driver's license is required
- An incumbent must live within reasonable proximity of assigned workstation
- Possession of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is required for the successful completion of original probation
- An incumbent must complete all VTTC required coursework within six (6) months or be enrolled
- Participation in a random drug and alcohol-testing program is required prior to operation of vehicles or operating equipment
