About The Position

Provide administrative support to Fleet Manager, Shop Foreman and Parts Manager for the efficient and effective execution of Transportation operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must have a minimum of two years' successful experience as an MISD bus driver
  • Clear and valid Texas commercial driver's license with passenger (P) and School bus (S) endorsements.
  • Must have completed and maintained School Bus Driver certification as administered by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
  • Must maintain an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass annual DOT physical examination and random drug testing.
  • Must maintain regular, prompt and reliable attendance.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Able to work under pressure and collaboratively.
  • Follows District and Transportation policies and procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word processing, Excel spreadsheet and file maintenance skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to use personal computer and transportation software programs to create, reports, spreadsheets and databases.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations
  • One to two years clerical and file maintenance experience

Responsibilities

  • Receive and process invoices for payment.
  • Maintain purchase order spreadsheet.
  • File all vendor invoices, vehicle work orders and associated paperwork.
  • Manage annual vehicle registrations and process new vehicle titles
  • Manage fuel tank levels and order fuel when needed.
  • Assist with maintaining Fleet maintenance program, entering fuel records and new vehicle information.
  • Maintain the fuel software program, create fuel keys and enter vehicle records.
  • Download vehicle mileage readings from the fuel software program into the fleet maintenance program and correct any mileage errors.
  • Prepare correspondence, forms, records, and reports using personal computer and transportation software programs.
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of various reports and documents.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Serve as a substitute driver or monitor as needed.
  • Other duties assigned.
  • Collect and verify timekeeping data, employee hours, and pay adjustments.
  • Review timesheets and calculate time worked by employees.
  • Compile employee data, prepare reports from employment records and furnish information to authorized personnel.
  • Perform and assume clerical tasks and other related duties, including preparation of correspondence, reports and requisitions.
  • Provide administrative support for Supervisors as needed.
  • Perform other duties assigned.
