About The Position

This position is responsible for managing the transportation network of all fresh and frozen shipments including freight allocation and equipment utilization. This includes: Balancing the interrelationship of cost and service to maintain our current leadership position in on-time delivery, while minimizing our overall transportation expense; Optimize load assignments to maintain lane commitments and realize lowest cost. Work is routinely performed at a fast pace, coordinating and resolving multiple issues simultaneously. Daily duties include: Elimination of Network Inefficiencies. Resolution of carrier issues & customer delivery problems; focusing on providing superior customer service. Team Member development. Cost control and maximum utilization of resources. A substantial amount of time is spent problem-solving issues that involve bringing multiple parties together to work on a common solution or negotiating solutions that will meet the needs of all parties. Weekend and night work are a part of our routine; will receive calls at home periodically during the week. Position will be required to meet with new or current carriers to help develop business plans and expedite the business process; other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 3 plus years experience
  • Refrigerated transportation preferred
  • Standard computer skills; knowledge of legacy applications
  • 2-3 trips/yr
