About The Position

Nutrition 101, headquartered in Pendleton, Indiana, is a leader in eco-friendly waste handling and innovative food lifecycle management solutions. We help food processors, manufacturers, and agricultural partners transform food by-products into valuable resources such as livestock feed and sustainable materials. Our operations rely on a highly coordinated transportation network that moves materials between customer locations, processing facilities, and farms. We are looking for an experienced Logistics Manager to lead our transportation operations and help scale logistics across our rapidly growing network. The Logistics Manager oversees transportation operations for Nutrition 101’s trucking division, ensuring the efficient and compliant movement of materials between company facilities and customer locations. This role leads a team of Logistics Coordinators and Drivers, manages dispatch operations, coordinates equipment utilization, and optimizes routing to support time-sensitive deliveries across multiple locations. The Logistics Manager works closely with operations, fleet maintenance, sourcing, and business development teams to ensure seamless logistics execution while controlling transportation costs. This position requires a strong operational leader who can balance customer service, regulatory compliance, team leadership, and operational efficiency in a fast-paced logistics environment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or fleet operations
  • Leadership experience managing dispatch teams, logistics coordinators, or drivers
  • Strong knowledge of DOT and FMCSA regulations
  • Experience managing routing, scheduling, and fleet utilization
  • Demonstrated ability to improve logistics efficiency and manage transportation costs
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with logistics software, ERP systems, or transportation management systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily transportation operations including dispatching, scheduling, and routing
  • Coordinate live loads and time-sensitive deliveries across multiple locations
  • Optimize routes and logistics workflows to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Monitor transportation metrics and performance indicators
  • Source and manage third-party carriers when internal fleet capacity is limited
  • Lead and develop a team of Logistics Coordinators and Drivers
  • Provide guidance, training, and performance management for transportation staff
  • Support driver recruitment, onboarding, and certification compliance
  • Implement structured performance reviews and safety initiatives
  • Foster a culture focused on teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Work closely with the Fleet Manager to ensure equipment availability and maintenance
  • Coordinate fleet utilization across multiple operational sites
  • Monitor vehicle inspection records and DOT compliance requirements
  • Evaluate equipment usage and recommend fleet upgrades or expansion when needed
  • Partner with processing, drying, sourcing, and farm teams to coordinate inbound and outbound loads
  • Collaborate with business development teams to support customer transportation needs
  • Maintain strong communication with customer facilities to ensure service expectations are met
  • Monitor transportation costs and identify opportunities for operational savings
  • Track and analyze logistics KPIs to improve efficiency and service performance
  • Identify process improvements that enhance fleet productivity and customer satisfaction
