About The Position

U.S. Pipe is seeking a data-driven and detail-oriented Logistics Analyst Intern to join our operations team. This role is designed for a student who is eager to move beyond theory and gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of transportation management. You will play a key role in optimizing our supply chain by analyzing lane pricing, monitoring carrier performance, and mastering industry-leading software.

Requirements

• Must be entering junior or senior year pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Technical Savvy: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and data visualization).
• Analytical Mindset: Ability to transform raw data into clear, concise reports and narratives.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with internal teams and external carriers.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with TMS platforms or data analytics tools is a significant advantage.
• A previous internship in a manufacturing or transportation environment is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lane & Pricing Analysis: Evaluate historical shipping data and current market trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize routing guides.
• Carrier Performance Management: Assist in developing and maintaining scorecards to track carrier on-time performance, tender acceptance rates, and service levels.
• Market Intelligence: Utilizing DAT Freight Analytics, you will monitor outside market trends and spot-market fluctuations to provide actionable reporting to the leadership team.
• TMS Deep Dive: Gain "super-user" level experience with Princeton TMX. You will assist in data entry, process mapping, and troubleshooting within the Transportation Management System to ensure operational efficiency.
• Process Improvement: Identify bottlenecks in the current logistics flow and propose data-backed solutions to improve delivery timelines.
