About The Position

This is professional services and scientific work in the field of Engineering performing a variety of complex engineering functions in support of construction and maintenance of public works structures, systems, and facilities and transportation engineering. The incumbent is responsible for the inspection and documentation of work performed by private contractors. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Interpretation of the plans and specifications that relate to the project, Performing inspection and measurement of the work, Record-keeping on the materials used by the contractor, and, Performing other selected tasks related to projects to assure appropriate quality of the end product. The incumbent will act as a Resident Engineer and will perform project management and advanced technical engineering duties. Other duties may involve assisting in the development of projects doing design, plan development, and quantity and cost estimating. The ability to travel statewide for overnight and extended stays is required.

Requirements

  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer which includes at least two (2) years of work experience which demonstrates independent design, engineering analysis based on established standards, and progressively responsible work overseeing complex engineering projects with increased accountability.
  • Licensure as a professional engineer as issued by the Maine State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers.
  • The ability to travel statewide for overnight and extended stays is required.
