By joining our District 11 – Project Development Branch as a Transportation Engineer I in Clay County; you’ll have the opportunity to manage and oversee activities of transportation engineering projects with minimal phases and limited scope of work. Holders of the Transportation Engineer I position will complete tasks such as: Interprets and drafts professional and technical papers and reports Make recommendations concerning the planning or design of transportation facilities and related work. Manage and oversees activities of engineering projects and programs with multiple phases and larger scope of work and approves engineering documents as a Licensed Professional Engineer. Designs or coordinates the planning and, or, design of transportation facilities in accordance with the Departments policies, procedures, and standards and in accordance with federal rules and regulations. Reviews planning studies and makes recommendations for alternative solutions. Ideal Candidate will have experience in: Ability to communicate both orally and written Efficient in both record keeping and inspection reports Knowledge of proper expenditure of funds for various transportation programs Ability to work under pressure Excellent computer skills
