About The Position

Looking for a Transportation Coordinator with the ability to supervise a team of drivers. Must hold a valid Driver's License with no moving violations within the past three (3) years and be certified in CPR/First Aide.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), three (3) to five (5) years of driving experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be able to follow written and oral instructions, demonstrate verbal and written communication ability, and possess strong customer service skills.
  • Must be proficient in the operation of a van/bus and various vehicular components.
  • Must hold a valid Driver's License with no moving violations within the past three (3) years and be certified in CPR/First Aide.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Transportation Coordinator and schedule all transportation needs.
  • Review monthly calendar of trips and ensure all necessary information is documented (including location address, driver, and other important information).
  • Receive and schedule inquiries and appointments via email, website, or phone requests.
  • Respond and confirm all transportation requests in writing (if possible) with residents and staff.
  • Verify attendees via confirmation (1 day before trip) at departure from IKF and destination back to IKF.
  • Contact drivers as needed and assign trips.
  • Serve as front desk support, run errands, assist in community events, or perform other duties as assigned when not transporting residents.
  • Transport residents to specified locations safely and efficiently while complying with all traffic regulations.
  • Assist passengers on and off the vehicle; aid with packages and operate wheelchair lifts as necessary.
  • Report all incidents and accidents immediately and complete documentation per procedure.
  • Maintain accurate trip logs of fuel and mileage used per trip.
  • Regulate temperatures and lighting within vehicles for passenger comfort.
  • Serve as a chaperone for passengers during trips as requested.
  • Pick up and drop off residents for mealtimes according to assigned schedules.
  • Maintain vehicles in a clean and safe state.
  • Ensure proper operation of lights, signals, wipers, and other equipment.
  • Report maintenance issues immediately and assist with vehicle servicing.
  • Refuel when the tank is one-half full and clean the vehicle after each trip.
  • Conduct a visual check of the vehicle prior to each trip.
  • Maintain professionalism and discretion when representing Ingleside. Protect resident confidentiality at all times. Demonstrate courteous and cooperative behavior with residents, families, co-workers, and supervisors. Follow all policies and procedures, maintain positive relationships, and communicate with tact and diplomacy.
  • Participate in in-services, projects, or committees as time permits. Maintain all certifications necessary for employment. Demonstrate flexibility, open-mindedness, and versatility in adjusting to changing environments and requirements. Commit to continually improving skills through participation in educational opportunities and maintain knowledge of federal, state, and other applicable regulations.
