About The Position

The Transportation Coordinator / Dispatcher serves as a key point of contact between supply chain operations, external customers, and internal sales teams. This role is responsible for managing transportation-related communication, resolving issues, and ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products. The position acts as a floating/fill-in resource across multiple shifts and schedules, requiring flexibility and strong problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of business experience , preferably in transportation or logistics
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to manage a high volume of email communication (up to 300+ emails per day)
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Effective conflict management and negotiation abilities
  • Strong multitasking, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Positive attitude and customer-focused mindset
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with transportation and scheduling systems is preferred, including but not limited to: Dispatch/TMS systems (e.g., TES, LME, FourKites, OTR or similar), External scheduling platforms (e.g., Retailix, Retail Link, UNFI, One Network or similar)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary contact between supply chain operations and assigned external customers
  • Analyze high volumes of incoming emails and take prompt action to resolve issues
  • Maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners
  • Utilize multiple dispatch and transportation management systems to manage and resolve delivery issues
  • Work with external scheduling platforms to coordinate pickups, deliveries, and appointments
  • Maintain knowledge of internal policies, procedures, and software systems
  • Understand customer organizational structures, processes, and requirements
  • Identify cost-effective transportation solutions while meeting service expectations
  • Implement creative problem-solving approaches to resolve delivery disruptions
  • Ensure accurate and timely product delivery while maintaining positive customer relationships
