About The Position

This position is 4 days a week (Wed-Sat), 10 hours a day position. - Wed (3pm-11pm) - Thu-Sat (7pm-5am) This role is responsible for supporting a variety of tasks related to dispatching OTR (On The Road) drivers daily and supporting in scheduling runs. The role will require the ability to multi-task, pay close attention to detail, process runs accurately and communicate across multiple back-office processes and departments, as well as internal and external customers. In addition, the role will support drivers on their respective runs and troubleshoot through different issues that come up throughout the shift to ensure on time delivery. The Dispatch Admin will build cross functional partnerships and support our Kern Warehouse personnel, Sales, IMO (In Market Operations), CSRs (Back-End to Adjust Loads), Head Quarters personnel and other key functions will be required. This position will require the individual to be flexible and facilitate various deliverables at once. We are PepsiCo Supply Chain. Requirements

  • Office Skills: Outlook email, Worksheets, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to work in an unstructured environment with the ability to make tradeoff decisions quickly
  • Ability to give/receive constructive feedback
  • Excellent organizational and follow-up skill with the ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work with customers, internal and external
  • Must hold strong follow up skills
  • Ability to learn Frito Lay Systems: PFM, DPS, ICS, SAP, DRP, and others (systems to keep track of loads, inventory control systems, how they track loads)

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of DOT (Department of Transportation) Hours of Service - preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of dispatching experience - preferred

Responsibilities

  • Dispatch Coordination of inbound/outbound drivers and equipment.
  • Assignment of runs to OTR (On the Road) drivers on a daily basis.
  • Assignment of tractors on a daily basis.
  • Yard Management: tracking of Company Fleet, Common Carrier.
  • Tracking of offsite tractors and trailers.
  • Monitor and track Frito-Lay Drivers DOT (Department of Transportation) Hours of Service.
  • Manifesting of all retail and vend deliveries.
  • Extensive and effective communication with various functions to ensure successful deliveries.
  • Communicate effectively with shift counterparts for successful hand-off between shifts.
  • Active participation in various Department Team/Business meetings.
  • Backfill dispatch, scheduler and other traffic administrative roles as necessary.
  • Schedule the company fleet dispatch board
  • Key KPM Performance Analysis [OOR (Our of Route), OTD (On Time Delivery), Stop Compliance, etc.]
  • Other duties as assigned.
