Midwest Refrigerated Services is a full-service 3PL company providing refrigerated logistics services for the food industry. Based in Milwaukee, WI, we operate the largest fresh 48 state LTL consolidation pool with more than 100+ trucks, and offer multiple sites with cooler, and air-conditioned storage, distribution and cross-docking services. We operate refrigerated and non-refrigerated warehouses for storage needs but also Value Added Services such as specialty packing, kitting and fulfillment needs. The MRL Carrier Sales Manager (CSM) is responsible primarily for the ultimate coverage of all loads within the MRL system through outside 3rd party capacity. CSM’s will manage their carrier base for all required information needed by MRL such as: POD’s, Status updates, Rates, Pickup and Delivery assurances, Load tracking, as well as overall carrier development. CSM’s must both develop our core carrier group with the best capacity providers for our lanes and freight at market competitive rates, negotiating both daily one-off rates as well as long term lane rates and accessorial. Ultimately on time service is a function that CSM’s manage with our carrier base every day. CSM’s will utilize Carrier Load boards, system history, online carrier search tools and ultimately phone calls to acquire the best carriers ensuring with every load that MRL is achieving superior Gross Margins on freight. CSM’s must work closely with their ISM and Outside Sales teams to ensure that we’re communicating the capacity market and pricing in that market as it changes. CSM’s will work with Management and Sales to ensure that profitability continues to surpass expectations. Responsibilities

  • Ensuring daily orders are covered in time to ensure best margin and service
  • Building relationships with MRL carriers to ensure capacity and mutual benefit for our partners and MRL long-term success
  • Order entry and system operating proficiency
  • Order tracking, status updates, and order completion accuracy and timeliness within our systems
  • Ensure their carriers provide timely information on status, completion and tracking for superior service to our customers as well as timely BOL, POD receipt for billing.
  • Teamwork with both ISM’s as well as others in the Logistics Team
  • Radical customer service and a sense of ownership both internally and externally
  • Solution creation and communication both written and verbal
  • Other duties as assigned by management
