This Transportation Associate role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and courteous transportation of patients within the hospital premises. The associate ensures that patients are transported to and from various departments in a manner that prioritizes their comfort and safety. The position is full-time, 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, from 5:30 am to 2:30 pm. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent required (experience can be accepted in lieu of a degree)
  • Class D Passenger Vehicle Driver's License [State License]
  • Previous box truck, smaller truck driving experience
  • Ability to handle patients with care, demonstrating empathy and patience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and hospital procedures
  • Ability to lift and maneuver patients and equipment safely

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a healthcare or customer service role 1-2 years preferred

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport patients using hospital-provided wheelchairs, stretchers, or beds to designated departments or locations.
  • Assist patients with boarding and disembarking as needed, ensuring comfort and safety throughout the process.
  • Interact with patients and their families in a compassionate and professional manner.
  • Address patient concerns or needs promptly and respectfully.
  • Communicate effectively with nursing staff, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient transport needs.
  • Report any changes in the patient's condition or concerns to the appropriate medical personnel.
