Jump-start your career as a(an) EMT Transport today with HCA Florida Gulf Coast Hospital. POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated ER tech to join the Emergency Dept team. You will perform clerical and receptionist duties, and provide quality care to patients under the direction of a licensed nurse. You will work with a phenomenal team that cares like family for each other and our patients and their families. In this role you will: Demonstrate knowledge and application of intermediate patient care, to include vital signs, venipuncture, urinary catheterization, cardiac monitoring, and 12 lead EKG. Practice, endorses and provides customer service skills to patients, visitors, physicians and staff. Demonstrate knowledge and respect of patient's right to privacy and protection of patient's confidentiality. Plans, organize and communicate patient care activities to the patient and the Registered Nurse. Monitor and document information regarding patient activities, as directed by the Registered Nurse. Follows established guidelines for reporting a significant medical error or unanticipated outcome in the patient's care which results in patient harm. May have access to the designated areas to transport, assemble, and stock (inventory) of non-scheduled drugs and biologicals to include but not limited to fluids, sterile water, normal saline, and irrigations.

Requirements

  • High School or equivalency required
  • EMT-B certificate from State of Florida, Florida CNA license, Medical Assistant or Military Medic/Corpsman training.
  • BLS - AHA Healthcare Provider required
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • (EVOC) Emergency Vehicle Operations Course must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
  • Drivers License
  • (EMT-State) Emergency Medical Technician
  • Associate Degree, or Certificate

Nice To Haves

  • Unit secretary skills preferred
  • Cardiac monitoring preferred
