Job Description Primary Location: Worland, Wyoming Terminal Dispatcher: Ensure materials and products are loaded properly, handled safely, and delivered in a timely manner, and in compliance with Federal and State Department of Transportation regulations for commercial motor carriers. Be a great support system for our OTR Transportation team.

Requirements

  • General Transportation Industry knowledge and DOT Regulations Required
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License, Class A Required.
  • Forklift Certified by company. Obtain and maintain OSHA forklift safety certification.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of organization.
  • Attention to Detail, Customer Service, Decision Making, Planning and Evaluating, Problem Solving, Reasoning, Self-Management
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

  • Schedules drivers to deliver loads to specific locations using independent judgement to drive the best, most cost-effective results.
  • Organizes loads, trucks and trailers to coincide with available drivers using discretion to ensure productivity requirements are met.
  • Ensures that drivers are maintaining driver logs, paperwork, and inspections according to Federal and State DOT regulations for commercial motor carriers.
  • Completes driver portion of bills of lading and other designated forms and documents.
  • Verifies continually that drivers are qualified (having passed all applicable DOT regulations) to operate commercial motor carrier vehicles.
  • Ensures loads are properly positioned and secured.
  • Operates/drives tractor to position trailers in designated parking area or bay for loading, unloading and dispatch.
  • Supervise team of drivers as directed.
  • Other duties may be assigned by the immediate supervisor or other supervisor at any time.
