About The Position

Shift: First Shift (United States of America) Schedule: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm with work from home flexibility. Provide and promote the delivery of 24/7 transitional quality patient care for a designated group of patients through role modeling, displaying excellence in nursing knowledge and clinical practice, and acting as educator for the transplant patient population. Provide a continuum of care and education for pre and post-transplant patients and their families (living donor or recipient) and serve as a patient advocate in the healthcare system and community.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years nursing experience or other direct patient care experience working with complex patients required.
• High school education or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) required.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written format required.
• Ability to work independently and within a multidisplinary team, using good judgment and assessment skills required.
• Ability to demonstrate competent leadership and teaching ability required.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska or current compact state license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).

Nice To Haves

• Prior solid organ transplant experience preferred.
• Prior cardiology experience (ICU, CCU, or equivalent) preferred.
• Based on position, prior pulmonary experience (ICU, CF, PH or equivalent) preferred.
• Master's of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree preferred.
• Transplant coordination certification after two years of hire or transfer date preferred.
