About The Position

Transmission Line Civil Engineering Summer Intern – 2026 Tri-State is an electric power utility providing electricity to rural electric cooperatives. We have a Transmission Line Civil Engineering Summer Intern opportunity for 2026. Students who have successfully completed two (2) or more years of undergraduate study towards a degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university are encouraged to apply. Seniors who will be graduating in December or are planning to attend graduate school in the Fall are also encouraged to apply. This summer position offers students a hands on opportunity to see how electric utilities design and maintain transmission power lines .

Nice To Haves

PLS-CADD experience is preferred, but not necessary.
Preference will be given to students who attend accredited colleges and universities in Tri-State’s service territory which includes Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska and New Mexico.

Responsibilities

The intern will assist in gathering structure information for asset integration
Gain experience with the transmission industry standard program PLS-CADD by generating standard files and evaluating existing PLS-CADD models.
