About The Position

Position Overview: The Transition Guide (TG) serves as Gannon University’s first point of contact with our first-year students. As a representative of Gannon University, Transition Guides will be expected to enhance the student experience by promoting learning and development through engagement, fostering community among small groups, and encouraging a culture of dialogue and understanding. Specifically, duties related to the Transition Guide position include, but are not limited to: Being present, engaged, and committed to the training process which includes: Summer Transition Guide kick-off meeting: TBD Summer Transition Guide Training: July 6-9, 2026 Summer Orientation Sessions: July 10, 16, 18, 20 Serving as a small-group facilitator for 10-16 students during all Orientation sessions Serving as a peer mentor during the transition process by supporting our students holistically, communicating information and connecting them to university resources Modeling a positive attitude and growth mindset when portraying Gannon University’s programs, policies & procedures Assisting with setup and administrative tasks as needed Being fully present for setup days (the day prior to each Orientation session) Physical Demands Must be able to meet the physical demands associated with the high-energy and robust pace of a highly active office during Orientation.

Requirements

  • Have attended Gannon University for at least 1 semester prior to July 2026
  • Be enrolled as a full-time, undergraduate student for the Fall 2025 semester
  • Maintain a 2.5 cumulative GPA
  • Be able to be self-sufficient in assigned tasks, as well as collaborate effectively in a new community of professional and peer staff
  • Be able to uphold and support the Gannon University Mission
  • Be eligible to work in the United States with no restrictions

Responsibilities

  • Being present, engaged, and committed to the training process
