About The Position

The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating accurate suspect defect reporting on the operation of NYCT's Track Geometry and Ultrasonic Rail Flaw Testing of all mainline tracks. The candidate will be responsible for the scheduling, coverage, and accurate testing of all mainline tracks in accordance with the direction from the Senior Director of Automated Track Inspections. The candidate will be responsible for performing detailed, accurate and complete analysis of track geometry defects and monthly reporting for the Automated Track Geometry group. The candidate will prepare detailed reports of the conditions found as well as recommend corrective action of the defects positively identified in the field or with the TGC video inspections. The incumbent will be responsible for the maintenance and update of track geometry and Ultrasonic Rail Flaw defect databases and the overall quality control of track geometry and Ultrasonic Rail Flaw Testing reporting. Please be advised this position has a night-to-overnight shift, 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM.

Requirements

  • Assistant Transit Management Analyst I - II: A master's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, or A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university and two years of satisfactory full-time professional experience working in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, engineering, in management or methods of analysis, operations research, organization research or program evaluation, personnel or public administration, staff development, employment program planning or administration, security management; or general administration.
  • Associate Transit Management Analyst: A master's degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, public administration, public policy, engineering, engineering technology, economics, architecture, mathematics, physics, computer science, finance, accounting, transportation planning, industrial psychology, urban planning/studies, human resources management, labor relations, operations research, security management or in a related area, and one year of full-time satisfactory experience working in budget administration, accounting, economic or financial administration, engineering, in management or methods analysis, operations research, organizational research or program evaluation, personnel or public administration, staff development, employment program planning or administration, security management; or general administration; or A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; and three years of full-time satisfactory experience as described in "1" above.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Pro, Tableau, Power BI applications.
  • Strong writing, research, and interpretation skills.
  • Ability to function independently with limited work direction.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative abilities.

Responsibilities
