The Director, Transformational Giving will lead the development of philanthropic strategies for $1M+ donors in support of the Foundation and all health approved priorities. The role will lead the development of written comprehensive case for support for complex fundraising priorities. The position will maintain a portfolio of 25-40 transformational gift prospects including the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of those prospects.

Responsibilities

  • Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
  • Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.
  • Define campaign fundraising initiatives along with the Chief Development Officer (CDO) including developing specific and compelling gift objectives within each initiative. Collaborate with academic, administrative, and clinical leaders to develop business plans for the initiatives. Juggle complex fundraising initiatives that involve multiple stakeholders and competing organizational priorities.
  • Identify $1M+ prospective donors and work with necessary foundation team members to create strategies and timelines for each donor. Develop fundraising plans and timelines for successful completion of each initiative. Responsible for tracking moves management process for all $1M+ donors.
  • Staff a select portfolio of $1M+ transformational donors with responsibility for managing all aspects of the donor portfolio including cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
  • Work to create and execute best practices for building and sustaining a transformational giving program at the Foundation that includes implementing strategies for local, regional, and national growth. Responsible for creating process and procedures for the on-going pipeline development of transformational gift prospects for long-term fundraising growth for the Foundation.
  • Provide strategic leadership to the Foundation team and set priorities, goals, and track success metrics.
