About The Position

University of Bridgeport is seeking candidates for the position of Transfer Admissions Officer. This position recruits prospective students, facilitates admission requirements and provides support and guidance to prospective students throughout the enrollment process. This position will be located in Bridgeport, Connecticut.

  • 6 months of experience in admissions, customer service, or sales preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Facilitates all enrollment activities for students pursuing enrollment into the University.
  • Provides appropriate follow up and follow through with prospective students from point of inquiry through enrollment.
  • Assesses student need, and presents information as to why and how the University may benefit a student's personal, academic and professional goals.
  • Independently manages office priorities including student outreach and follow-up, reviewing applications
  • Review and make decisions on applications for transfer students applying into the University
  • Execute weekend tours and information sessions independently; participates in open houses, accepted student day events, as well as other in-person or virtual events
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes some weekday evenings and Saturdays
  • Contributes to strategic yield initiatives; ability to develop ideas and execute
  • Collects all necessary documents and paperwork toward enrollment including applications, transcripts, and immunization records.
  • Presents information on the process to apply for Financial Aid, schedules financial aid appointments and acts as the primary liaison to the Financial Aid Office.
  • Conducts all work in a safe manner and all work safety practices are followed.
  • Performs similar or related work as required, directed or as situation dictates.
  • Continues professional development and training; keeps current with trends.
  • Assists other department staff as needed to promote a team effort.
