Job Summary The Transfer Admissions Lead organizes, plans, and directs the work of the Transfer Admissions Units under the general direction of the Associate Director, Admissions. This position is responsible for the general operations of the admissions cycle, coordination of staff training, and dissemination of information related to admissions to prospective students, departments and colleges, and the general public. Furthermore, the incumbent provides services that are equitable, inclusive, and culturally sensitive to enhance the quality of campus life. This position uses a student-centered and equity-minded approach in all communication and service efforts.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate demonstrates strong independent workflow coordination, the ability to train staff, and the skill to establish effective quality‑control processes.
  • They are proficient with online student information systems and Microsoft Excel, capable of running and analyzing student data reports, and able to identify system issues and recommend solutions.
  • They possess solid knowledge of admissions policies, transfer credit evaluations, and academic regulations, using this expertise to resolve complex inquiries.
  • The candidate excels in working collaboratively with supervisors, peers, faculty, and staff, and communicates clearly in both oral and written form, including culturally diverse communities.
  • They consistently provide respectful, empathetic, and professional customer service, ask clarifying questions to meet customer needs, and maintain strict confidentiality.
  • They demonstrate the ability to convey technical or difficult information, manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines, and maintain strong organizational and documentation practices to support operational continuity.
  • They ensure data integrity through adherence to approved processes, contribute positively to team goals, communicate data‑driven insights effectively, and build strong relationships that support collaboration, influence decisions, and advance shared strategic objectives.
  • Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
  • Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.
  • Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."
  • Equivalent to two years of academic records evaluation experience with the full scope of responsibility for making decisions regarding eligibility for the granting of degrees required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and oversee the workflow of the Transfer Admissions Unit.
  • Train staff, oversee workload assignments, and monitor production.
  • Monitor special populations of students and coordinate with departments and colleges to resolve issues.
  • Interpret admission and transfer credit policies, communicate policies and procedures to prospective and current students and campus departments and colleges, and recommend changes in procedures and practices.
  • Evaluation of Student Academic Records, Maintenance of Resource Materials, and serve as the primary resource for all transfer admissions issues consulting with the Associate Director of Transfer Admission where appropriate.
  • Ensure accuracy of student data, update online admissions information, update online transfer credit information, and maintain the online university application.
