About The Position

Devereux is one of the nation’s largest nonprofit organizations providing services, insight, and leadership in the evolving field of behavioral healthcare. Devereux-Arizona serves more than 4,000 individuals with emotional, behavioral, and cognitive differences each year across the state. We offer residential treatment, short-term residential treatment, a private school, community-based services, integrated care services, prevention programs, respite services and therapeutic foster care. Located in Phoenix, AZ the Training (Learning) Specialist schedules and delivers training and development to Devereux-Arizona employees using a variety of instructional strategies and activities suited for adult learners. The Learning Specialist monitors, evaluates, and monitors learning events within the learning management systems (LMS). Job duties include conducting new hire orientation, developing training materials, tracking training completion records for all staff, and providing ongoing training and development for staff. The Learning Specialist will be instructor-certified to train CPR, First Aid, Safe and Positive Approaches, and QPR. Pay Range: $20 - $22 / hr Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm, with evenings and weekends as required

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older (per licensing standards)
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalency required
  • One (1) year behavioral health experience required
  • Two (2) years training adults preferred
  • Proficient uses in technologies utilized to deliver presentations preferred
  • Proficient in use of Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Valid Arizona Driver's License & pass DMV 36-month history check
  • Drug test within 24hrs of offer w/ negative results
  • Pre-employment Physical and Job Demand Assessment
  • Must be available to attend new hire orientation (paid, Mon-Fri 8:30am-5pm) plus on the job training
  • Current AZ Fingerprint Clearance Card with no restrictions ( or eligibility to obtain with no restrictions). Arizona Revised Statutes Notice (ARS 36-411 Residential care institutions; nursing care institutions; home health agencies; fingerprinting requirements; exemptions; definitions). If a person's employment record contains a six-month or longer time frame during which the person was not employed by any employer, a completed application with a new set of fingerprints shall be submitted to the department of public safety.
