About The Position

Performs highly complex (senior-level) training work. Work involves coordinating, developing and evaluating educational and training programs. May supervise the work of others. Works under limited supervision, with moderate latitude in the use of initiative and independent judgement.

Requirements

  • 2 years’ experience with children in ECI Services.
  • Degree in field related to early childhood intervention.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Knowledge of childhood development.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to see, hear, and talk effectively within job requirements.
  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to implement administrative procedures; to interpret rules, regulations, policies, and procedures; to communicate effectively; and to train others.
  • Proficient use of all computer systems.

  • Perform and model the comprehensive range of required ECI services as determined by the program’s contract.
  • Demonstrate quality services to other staff and carry a small caseload.
  • Meet all required performance measures and timelines related to direct services 100% of the time.
  • Develop and coordinate the ECI Childteam Program’s training component so that it complies with the program’s contract requirements and stays current with program processes and procedures 100% of the time.
  • Provide initial training and orientation to all new ECI Childteam direct service staff.
  • Explain program processes and procedures, ensuring all training requirements are completed.
  • Help new staff to set up observations.
  • Lead all Early Intervention Specialists step by step up to proficiency using both the state and program’s training protocols.
  • Supervise all entry level EIS’s in the HHS competency demonstration system.
  • Meet with them weekly to ensure they complete all required competency demonstrations requirements.
  • Provide at least 1 hour of direct supervision each week for all entry level EIS’s.
  • Act as an interim SST provider based on program’s needs coaching families in the natural environment to promote the child’s growth and development across all developmental domains.
  • Ensure that each listed service provided by the EIS begins within 28 days of the initial IFSP 100% of the time.
  • Document efforts to overcome any barriers to the start of services in a timely manner.
  • Clearly and thoroughly document all services provided to include ongoing progress notes, case management notes, consultation notes, correspondence, and IFSP’s.
  • Act as an interim Service Coordinator based on program’s needs.
  • Coordinate new referrals.
  • Be responsible for timelines being met for children. These timelines include initial contact, resolution of referral within 45 days of referral, first direct service delivered within 28 days of IFSP, IFSP review within at least 6 months of initial IFSP, annual eligibility/ IFSP review within 1 year of initial IFSP, transition steps and activities in place by child’s 2nd birthday, transition conference within 90 days of child’s 3rd birthday, notification for special education services within 90 days of child’s 3rd birthday 100% of the time.
  • Provide ongoing support to direct service staff for the delivery and development of quality early intervention services through face-to-face meetings, direct observations to include videotaping as appropriate, and provide support and/or resources for identified needs.
  • Ensure all required training is completed by all direct service providers and Service Coordinators.
  • Clearly and thoroughly document observations of staff and training with staff.
  • Provide positive and constructive feedback to staff while developing positive working relationships.
  • Meet at least monthly with program supervisors to review competency levels and training needs of direct service staff 100% of the time.
  • Maintain training folders and publish up to date schedules and registrations for community and state trainings and facilitate necessary arrangements and handouts as needed.
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of open and closed charts and required IFSP reviews.
  • Give staff necessary feedback to ensure a high level of correctness and completeness on all documentation and processes associated with enrollment, IFSP reviews, dismissals, and discontinuations.
  • Provide the necessary support to staff that struggle with performing at a high level of competency in these required processes.
  • Ensure annual coaching fidelity sign-offs for all direct service providers are completed within required timelines.
  • Participate as a member of the ECI Management team, maintaining an open dialogue of feedback and input.
  • As a team member, share in evaluating and problem-solving systems, helping to process and integrate information into training opportunities that will result in quality program practices.
  • Participate in Random Moment Time Study as required, including the appropriate trainings.
  • Turn in required paperwork to include employee time sheets, expense voucher, and other employee and ECI child documentation by the due dates 100% of the time.
  • Professional Development - This function requires the employee to successfully complete training, maintain competency and complete continuing education as required by professional standards and the Center. Occasionally the staff person may need to drive within or outside the five counties in order to participate in a special activity, such as a conference. The staff must maintain a valid driving license.
  • Assist in coordinating program events such as Child Find activities, Public Awareness events, Interagency Coordination, and other special program events.
  • Staff member is expected to maintain their mental and emotional well-being as part of their role.
