Job Summary This position will work with the team at IIE that administers the EducationUSA Global Advising Services through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA). The Training Manager, EducationUSA Global Advising Services serves as the IIE lead for the development, implementation, and assessment of all EducationUSA adviser training and professional development activities. In close collaboration with the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), formulates, develops, and implements an integrated continuum of EducationUSA adviser professional development and training. Serves as a resource for and works closely with Regional Managers (REACs) to oversee the execution of the training continuum. Provide leadership and guidance to their small team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment. This role regularly communicates with program partners and works in close consultation with counterparts in ECA. Additionally, the Training Manager authors, compiles, and analyzes data for, a variety of reports and special projects.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree and at least five (5) years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Excellent understanding of and demonstrated skills related to the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of adult learning programs and products across the modality spectrum—face-to-face, virtual, and self-paced.
  • Ability to develop workshop/course curriculum and professional training modules.
  • Ability to work effectively in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadline pressure.
  • Must be self‐motivated and able to follow through to the end of assignments while meeting goals and deadlines.
  • Must possess ability to manage complex programs working with international and virtual project teams.
  • Cultivated people skills needed to develop trust and leverage communication among all stakeholders and collaborators.
  • Ability to guide and motivate others.
  • Awareness, sensitivity, and understanding of cross‐cultural issues.
  • Budget and financial literacy required, as well as advanced proficiency with MS Office applications and learning management systems, to include social media platforms.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 8 years of project management in all phases including initiation, planning, execution, performance monitoring and close-out is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supports day-to-day contact with program contacts at ECA.
  • Manages the sponsor experience, consistent with established protocols.
  • Manages all daily taskers and reporting in coordination with the program director, internal teams, and external partners.
  • Coordinates communication with sponsor counterparts for assigned programmatic portfolio and responds to general and specific questions, inquiries and correspondence to ensure programs deliverables are met.
  • Troubleshoots participant and partner issues.
  • In consultation with ECA, responsible for the design and delivery of adviser training and professional development, including conducting needs assessment, establishing goals and objectives, working with diverse training methodologies, developing materials, and program evaluation for primarily virtual training.
  • Drives the assessment, development, and implementation of global training programs for EducationUSA advisers.
  • Provides technical oversight and compilation of annual and life-of-project work plans involving all relevant stakeholders, to identify, develop, and sequence the activities needed to successfully complete program deliverables, which includes both high-level design and day-to-day program activities of the Adviser Training continuum.
  • Establishes metrics to track and report on program progress.
  • Reviews the workplan and provides updated metrics to the program director and greater program team on a regular basis.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to their small team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Works with program director and with portfolio finance to ensure alignment between program workplan and budget, including monitoring of cost-share budgets/back-up, partner contribution budget, and supporting financial documentation, particularly with regard to program budget for events, trainings and marketing activities.
  • Partners with Regional Managers (REACs) and international team as needed.
  • Collects, compiles, and analyzes data for impact and quarterly reports for ECA, as well as other reports and data requests as necessary. Coordinates critical communications with partners.
