About The Position

The Office of Juvenile Affairs (OJA) is seeking a Training Curriculum Supervisor. This position will collaborate with leadership to communicate priorities, expectations, and operational needs related to training programs and staff assignments. The ideal candidate will be familiar with various types of equipment and materials used in conducting training and curriculum development methods and techniques. We encourage those with experience in education or training to apply. Basic Purpose Positions in this job family are assigned responsibilities involving the training and professional development of employees in various topics or skills. This includes the preparation of lesson plans and other materials to be used in conducting training, scheduling and coordinating various workshops, classes, or seminars, conducting training in a variety of settings and/or facilitating a variety of meetings or seminars.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of a bachelor's degree and two years of experience in education or training plus two additional year of qualifying experience in software applications used for rapid development of training materials and online courses; or an equivalent combination of education and experience, substituting one year of qualifying experience for each year of the bachelor’s degree and two years of experience in education or training plus two additional year of qualifying experience in software applications used for rapid development of training materials and online courses; or a master's degree in adult education or human resource development plus two additional year of qualifying experience in software applications used for rapid development of training materials and online courses.
  • Must be willing to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and possess a valid Oklahoma driver’s license for operating state-owned vehicles.
  • Must be able to pass OSBI and FBI background check.
  • A trial period of 12 months will be required.
  • Some positions in this job family are safety sensitive as defined by 63 O.S. § 427.8.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, designs, and updates agency training curriculum, lesson plans, instructional guides, participant manuals, presentations, and multimedia learning materials to support organizational training initiatives.
  • Prepares or collects information and materials to be used in conducting and/or facilitating training, meetings, or seminars, including lesson plans, training guides, participant manuals, videos, slides, and other instructional resources.
  • Determines employee and agency training and professional development needs through surveys, interviews, performance data, or other assessment methods; reviews and analyzes special requests for training courses and professional development opportunities
  • Conducts classroom, virtual, or blended training sessions using adult learning principles and instructional best practices; evaluates training effectiveness and modifies curriculum or instructional methods as needed.
  • Schedules and coordinates training classes, workshops, seminars, conferences, and meetings, ensuring appropriate facilities, materials, technology, and instructional support are available.
  • Evaluates training programs through participant feedback, performance outcomes, and program metrics to identify gaps and implement improvements to curriculum and instructional delivery.
  • Provides guidance and consultation to employees and supervisors regarding training resources, professional development opportunities, certification requirements, and eligibility criteria.
  • Assigns work, establishes priorities, monitors timelines, and reviews staff work for quality, consistency, and timeliness.
  • Oversees day-to-day training operations and supports implementation of agency training initiatives.
  • Reviews and approves curriculum, lesson plans, instructional materials, and training resources to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with agency standards.
  • Provides coaching, guidance, and performance feedback to assigned staff in support of quality instruction and professional growth.
  • Prepares reports, maintains records, and assists with leadership with planning, implementation, and evaluation of training programs.
