About The Position

As a Training and Development Officer, you will deliver specialized Protective Services/Security instruction that equips personnel with the skills needed to support NASA’s mission. This position also includes serving as the on-site Armorer, ensuring the secure management and readiness of essential equipment.

Requirements

• Bring substantial experience in law enforcement or security training, such as serving as a Range Master, delivering SPO instruction, or holding a multi-year background in civilian or law-enforcement roles.
• Successfully complete the NASA Protective Service Training Academy basic course.
• Maintain all required NASA physical certifications and consistently qualify with assigned firearms and specialty weapons.
• Hold a valid driver’s license and meet strict suitability standards, including a clean criminal and drug-use history.
• Possess essential instructional and technical certifications, including NBTS Instructor, Glock Basic Armorer, Range Instructor, and core ICS coursework (100, 200, 300, 700, 800).

Responsibilities

• Deliver additional security, safety, and law-enforcement training to NASA contractors and civil servants as directed by the LRC NPSTA Training Manager or NHQ Annex COR.
• Interpret and apply detailed rules, instructions, and training materials with strong English reading, speaking, and comprehension skills.
• Maintain schedule flexibility to support mission needs, including occasional weekend and holiday assignments.
