STV’s Maryland Transportation team is seeking a motivated Traffic Engineering Specialist to support traffic and roadway design projects across Maryland and the broader Mid-Atlantic region. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
  • 0-4 years of relevant traffic/transportation engineering experience or internship experience.
  • Exposure to traffic analysis software (e.g., Synchro, HCS, or similar).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Exposure to MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills.
  • Interest in Maryland DOT, local county agencies, or Mid-Atlantic transportation projects.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct traffic operational analysis for roadway and intersection improvements.
  • Perform transportation safety and crash data analysis.
  • Support multimodal design and evaluation of pedestrian and bicycle facilities.
  • Assist with traffic signal coordination and timing.
  • Develop design concepts using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, depending on client needs.
  • Collaborate with planners, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions.
