AECOM is seeking a Traffic Engineer to be based in New Jersey at our Bloomfield or possibly our Piscataway office. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Perform analytical tasks including traffic data collection and data manipulation. Perform traffic and capacity analysis on roadway networks. Perform traffic analysis on roadway networks using transportation planning/engineering software (HCS, Synchro, simulation, etc.). Prepare written reports and presentations of project findings that support moving projects from concept/preliminary alternatives into design, or document operational enhancements to present to clients and stakeholders. Builds analytic and design skills. Conducts planning analysis and engineering conceptual design under the supervision of an experienced traffic engineer. Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer. Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer. Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems. Conduct traffic impact studies, operational analyses, and safety evaluations. Develop and review traffic signal designs, signing and pavement marking plans. Utilize traffic modeling software (e.g., Synchro, VISSIM, HCS) for analysis and simulation. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on transportation planning and design projects. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal standards and guidelines.
