Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering. or a related Field.
  • 3-8 years of experience in traffic engineering or a related discipline.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Ability to work in both field and office environments.
  • Willingness to travel locally throughout the Lehigh Valley and surrounding areas.
  • Proficiency with traffic analysis software such as Synchro, HCS, or similar tools.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a collaborative, problem solving mindset.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Pennsylvania or the ability to obtain one.
  • Experience with project management and leading project teams is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and oversee traffic impact studies, safety analyses, and traffic flow evaluations.
  • Prepare technical reports, plans, and specifications for highway and traffic engineering projects, including signals, signage, and pavement markings.
  • Perform and review studies involving parking restrictions, sight distance, speed limits, and pavement markings.
  • Lead the design and analysis of traffic control devices using Synchro, HCS, or similar software.
  • Develop and optimize signal timing plans to improve efficiency and safety.
  • Conduct field investigations and site visits to collect data and assess real-world conditions.
  • Collaborate across departments and with clients to deliver high-quality, timely project outcomes.
  • Prepare proposals, cost estimates, and project schedules for municipal and commercial clients.
  • Participate in staff, client, and public meetings, addressing technical and community concerns.
  • Stay current with industry standards and technology advancements to apply best practices in traffic engineering.
  • Ensure all designs and analyses comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
