Requirements

  • BSCE degree with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience.
  • PE required; PTOE is desirable.
  • Proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads, AutoCAD, and AutoTurn is desirable.
  • Thorough understanding of HCS, VISSIM, Synchro/Sim Traffic software is desired.
  • Experience related to traffic safety (vehicle, pedestrian, and bicycle), roadside/intersection safety, accessibility, crash data analysis and development of crash countermeasures.
  • Successful experience meeting scope, schedules, and budgets on transportation projects/studies.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Traffic Engineering Studies and Designs
  • Traffic signal design for CTDOT/CT Municipalities, including electrical equipment and timings.
  • Transportation engineering and traffic planning studies.
  • Traffic simulation analysis using VISSIM and Synchro, SimTraffic software, and operational analysis using HCS.
  • Writes and reviews traffic impact studies and analysis reports.
  • Works with multi-disciplinary teams and provide traffic inputs for environmental studies and roadway design elements such as roadway signing, pavement marking, and MPT plans, Design Approval Documents, and/or traffic signal operation analyses.
  • Coordinate with DOT and local agencies.
  • Assists in public information meetings.
  • Support the preparation of technical proposals, and business development activities.
