Traffic Control Supervisor Summary The Traffic Control Supervisor is responsible for the daily traffic control duties required per project that he/she is tasked. The TC Supervisor reports directly to the Traffic Control Division Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Provide traffic control as required Perform and document a daily inspection of the installation, operation, maintenance, and removal of all traffic control devices Correct traffic control conditions that cause erratic vehicle movements, unexpected braking, etc. Propose changes to improve traffic flow through the work zone Have the appropriate training or experience with portable traffic signals or AFAD's Be able to manage laborers, flaggers, and pilot car operators when job requires Ability to interpret maps and blue prints pertaining to layout and installation of traffic control equipment. Must have a clear understanding of all codes, specifications, and guidelines set forth by, but not limited to, regulatory, local, and private agencies as they pertain to the related duties and work sites. Interpret plans, projects, and perform job take offs Conduct yourself in a manner that promotes a professional atmosphere, and ensure that the service encounter with the customer is an above average experience. Meet on a regular basis with branch managers and other division managers, resolving any problems and discussing possible solutions. Utilize continuing education courses related to the traffic control Perform all other duties as assigned.
