About The Position

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Trade Compliance Manager - REMOTE. In this role, you will be essential in ensuring that trade compliance operations are streamlined and effective within assigned business units. You will oversee the management of international shipment compliance, which necessitates working closely with internal teams to drive business results. Your contributions will include developing tools for improvement and maintaining strong records in alignment with regulatory standards. This role is pivotal in supporting the mission to ensure accuracy in product classification and compliance with Export Regulations.

Requirements

  • Broad experience with Customs regulations and importer/exporter operations.
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in trade compliance, with expertise in regulations and practices.
  • Education in Business Administration, Technical Degree, or International Trade Compliance Certification preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade laws, tariffs, and customs procedures.
  • Proficiency in performing internal audits.
  • Experience with customs entry and export/import processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with various departments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Understanding of Canada Border Services Agency operational requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical aptitude in data manipulation using software tools.
  • Team player and strong critical thinker.

  • Education in Business Administration, Technical Degree, or International Trade Compliance Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support business needs relating to CARM and SWI initiatives.
  • Manage process of qualifying finished goods and components to various free trade agreements (e.g. CUSMA, CETA, etc.).
  • Support audits conducted by government agencies related to import and export activities.
  • Assist with authoring and maintaining Import and Export Compliance Manual.
  • Collaborate with brokers to file post summary corrections or protests with the Canadian Border Service Agency.
  • Determine application of Participating Government Agency (PGA) regulations for applicable HTS codes.
  • Drive strategic trade compliance program efficiency and risk management.
  • Ensure accurate and complete recordkeeping of all trade transactions.
  • Conduct import and export compliance audits of trade activities.
  • Interpret Customs rulings and assist in assignment of proper HTS classifications.
  • Produce compliance training materials and conduct training for stakeholders.
  • Promote transparency and best practices in compliance processes.
  • Assist with problems or questions related to import or export transactions.
  • Responsible for other duties as assigned.
