About The Position

R. J. Corman Switching Company is seeking a Track Crew Member to join our team in Jesup, GA. Responsibilities: Work in conjunction with the Track Inspector to install and repair railroad track and complete other projects as needed. Operate machinery in order to adequately inspect and maintain the track. Complete all required documentation. Promote a safe work environment. Railroad experience preferred. Perform tasks associated with track work including but not limited to: pulling and driving spikes, replacing ties, surfacing track, changing rail, bars, and other track apparatus. Specialized or Technical Knowledge, or Education and Experience Able to pass Railroad safety test and training. Can safely and efficiently operate power tools. Must have good communication skills and good employee relations. Should be multi-task oriented and possess good analytical skills. Physical Requirements: Able to perform physical strenuous work Able to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs Requires occasional use of 30 lb claw bar to remove spikes, requiring application of 50 lbs of force Requires occasional use of 10 lb sledge hammer to drive spikes, requiring application of 75 lbs of force Able to walk, climb, and maintain balance on equipment, stairs, ladders, uneven terrain, rails and ballast in a safe manner Able to navigate into confined spaces if necessary Benefits: R.
