About The Position

R. J. Corman Switching Company is seeking a Track Crew Member to join our team
in Jesup, GA.

Requirements

• Able to pass Railroad safety test and training.
• Can safely and efficiently operate power tools.
• Must have good communication skills and good employee relations.
• Should be multi-task oriented and possess good analytical skills.
• Able to perform physical strenuous work
• Able to frequently bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch
• Able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs
• Requires occasional use of 30 lb claw bar to remove spikes, requiring application of 50 lbs of force
• Requires occasional use of 10 lb sledge hammer to drive spikes, requiring application of 75 lbs of force
• Able to walk, climb, and maintain balance on equipment, stairs, ladders, uneven terrain, rails and ballast in a safe manner
• Able to navigate into confined spaces if necessary

Nice To Haves

• Railroad experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work in conjunction with the Track Inspector to install and repair railroad track and complete other projects as needed.
• Operate machinery in order to adequately inspect and maintain the track.
• Complete all required documentation.
• Promote a safe work environment.
• Perform tasks associated with track work including but not limited to: pulling and driving spikes, replacing ties, surfacing track, changing rail, bars, and other track apparatus.
