TPM Maintenance Supervisor

About The Position

The TPM Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the operation of his or her department, utilizing the materials, personnel, machines, money and methods available to produce quality parts in the quantities necessary, in the time specified. The supervisor may delegate areas of authority to his/her assistant/relief as necessary by area or by shift, but total responsibility remains with the department Supervisor.

Requirements

All supervisors are to be competent in the areas of his/her department and be able to provide training to all associates in this area. Training may be delegated to qualified associates at the discretion of the supervisor.
Repair and maintain all equipment to maximize availability.
Make necessary repairs, inventory spare parts, log down time, assist with training, preventive maintenance, trouble shooting, equipment installations, and or repairs.
Identify and train maintenance personnel as so directed by the Maintenance supervisor.
Work with outside vendors as needed on repairs and rebuilds.
All Supervisors must possess strong interpersonal skills in a participative management environment. He or she must be aggressive in pursuing a program of continuous improvement in the search of a better way to make a quality product more efficiently.
Basic computer skills are required in normal routine daily operations
Ability to prioritize and handle many diverse projects and issues simultaneously; ability to deal with important issues that can have a significant impact on the long-term success of the Company.
Must be organized and deadline oriented and have strong verbal communication skills.
Must be able to sit/stand for prolonged periods of time
Must be able to lift 25 pounds or less

Responsibilities

Plan and coordinates schedule of preventive maintenance for equipment.
Reviews manufacturers’ service manuals to determine optimum frequency of preventive maintenance.
Work with supervisors to determine when planned maintenance will least interfere with operations.
Estimates costs and supplies to be used during scheduled maintenance.
Maintain records of planned and completed TPM projects
Work as a team member to assist the Maintenance department.
Assist with trouble shooting and repairs of all equipment.
Duties may require some off shift work and also may require a Cell phone to be worn so repairs can be made expeditiously.
Help develop plans for reconstruction or installation of new equipment.
May direct and coordinate activities of maintenance workers.
Determine and maintain a planned Maintenance schedule for every piece of equipment where parts are replaced before they fail. The schedule is based on manufactures recommendation as well as performance history.
Ensure proper execution of PM and TPM tasks performed by production and maintenance personnel.
