Nature of Work: The Tournament Administrator at Major League Fishing (MLF) is responsible for coordinating and managing the administrative aspects of fishing tournaments while onsite at each assigned event. This role involves helping to ensure that each tournament runs smoothly and efficiently. This description is a summary only and highlights the general level of work being performed. Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Lift 20 lbs. occasionally
  • Work in various weather conditions during events

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in business administration, sports management or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in event or tournament administration
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate professionalism
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to complete work accurately and in a timely manner
  • Ability to work independently and in a group setting and demonstrate good judgment skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and adapt to changing environments

Responsibilities

  • Setup and operation of computer equipment and software.
  • Verifing weights and/or penalties and making sure they are recorded in the software.
  • Making any necessary adjustments to correct weights and/or penalties during weigh-in.
  • Assisting with onsite management of sponsor contingency programs, including identification of qualified anglers.
  • Handling all paperwork, including but not limited, to results, standings, payouts and pairings.
  • Printing and verifying the accuracy of prize checks.
  • Sending all tournament data to the office server.
  • Handling any post-event questions the office may have.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
