About The Position

The Director of Total Rewards at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health System will lead the design, implementation, and management of the organization’s compensation, benefits, and employee well-being programs. This role ensures that total rewards strategies are competitive, equitable, and aligned with the health system’s mission, values, and strategic objectives, supporting the attraction, retention, and engagement of a high-performing workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other members of the HR team to provide unified support to the leaders and workforce.
  • Develop annual benefits and salary increase budgets, balancing workforce needs with financial and economic constraints.
  • Direct and optimize the administrative effectiveness of benefits and compensation functions, ensuring high standards of execution and accuracy.
  • Ensure compensation programs are internally equitable, externally competitive, and compliant with federal and state regulations, including ERISA, FLSA, and HIPAA.
  • Identify and remediate compliance gaps, coordinating across functions to minimize risk and ensure operational integrity.
  • Lead communications and change management strategies to educate employees, announce program updates, and enhance engagement and satisfaction.
  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of total rewards programs, including compensation, benefits, and incentive plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, financial capacity, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain HR policy and program alignment with organizational strategy, continuously identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Monitor and report on total rewards program effectiveness, costs, and compliance, recommending adjustments to the CHRO to support talent attraction and retention.
  • Oversee vendor relationships with consultants, brokers, carriers, and plan administrators to ensure high-quality service and cost-effective solutions.
