Under general supervision, the Tooling Technician is responsible for planning, securing and inventorying the appropriate tooling to support the manufacturing build schedule. In addition, periodically will be responsible for other miscellaneous task such as assisting machine operations. Tooling Technician will be required to use a variety of material handling equipment, such as pallets jacks, automated pallet walkies, electrical man lifts as well as miscellaneous hand tools in a continuous production or processing operation. The tasks have substantial variety and complexity. The scope of the Tooling Technician includes, but is not limited to: identifying tooling and printing requirements in support of the production schedule. Physically locating the specified tooling, delivering the tooling to the specific work centers, retrieving the previously used tooling and physically returning to inventory. Periodically assisting in other related tooling task, such as repair, identifying non-conformance tooling, designating rework and assisting in obsolescence and disposal. In addition, periodically, would be expected to act in accordance with a Machine Helper.
