About The Position

The person in this position is expected to: Ethically work with colleagues and team members and promote an environment of safety, quality, efficiency and operational excellence. Work safely and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Perform all tasks instructed by supervisor in a safe and efficient manner. Maintain a clean and safe work area. Adhere to company Good Manufacturing Policy (GMP) and other company policies. Safely work around and with the machine according to posted Safety requirements including but not limited to Lock Out Tag Out, Personal Protective Equipment, and other machine specific safety requirements. Lift/carry materials and tooling, production supplies, and final product up to 50 lbs. Inspect all print and cutting dies prior to delivery to machine center. Deliver all required print dies, cutting die boards, and make-readies for each shift to each machine prior to set-up according to the schedule for each machine. Daily, after print runs, remove all dies from machine centers, inspect the dies, and return them to their designated locations. Monitor replacement requirements for all print and cutting dies after each use. When replacements are required, coordinate with the Customer Service Department to ensure hard cards are marked, indicating replacement dies required prior to the next run. Ensure no delivery dates are compromised. Ensure item cards are properly marked with print and die board locations. Inspect all new and replacement print dies upon receipt for quality and accuracy of text and graphics. Use soft copies to check the dies. Organize print and cutting dies in racks. Maintain an up to date documented log and uniform system that is clear to all production supervisors. Ensure all tooling is properly marked and stored in its designated location. Develop and maintain system for regular purging obsolete print and cutting dies from the system (at least quarterly). Store obsolete print dies in a separate area until their final status is determined by the Sales department. Maintain written and computer tracking and documentation regarding status and location of obsolete print dies. Manipulate and use hand tools as required. Enter information in the computer as needed. Advise production supervisor or customer service manager on required supplies for job. After primary job duties are completed, help other team members with their jobs to meet production department goals.

Requirements

  • At least one year of corrugated industry experience including knowledge of box manufacturing and production, printing and cutting die manufacture and repair.
  • Strong math skills. Ability to apply concepts of high school math. Calculate figures and amounts such as measurements in increments of 1/16 of inch, percentages and totals.
  • Ability to read and calculate measurements using a tape measure.
  • High School level proficiency in English, or the capability of using English as a second language at a similar level of proficiency, (reading, writing, and comprehension) in order to understand operational and safety requirements of the machines, posted safety signage, maintain and manage system reports, production order information, and efficiently communicate job requirements to employees as needed.
  • Strong technology and computer skills. Ability and willingness to learn and navigate in different computer systems to achieve goals.
  • High attention to detail. Desire to ensure quality work product. Experience identifying errors and proactively resolving errors.
  • Ability to use and apply common sense and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more variables.
  • Ability to work together in a team that ensures accurate and timely execution, work product, and achievement of goals.
  • Strong work ethic, respectful communication and strong personal motivation skills. Has a positive attitude, is energetic, committed, and well organized.
