About The Position

The Generalist Tooling Technician is a versatile, hands-on role supporting all aspects of tooling operations-including hard tooling, soft tooling, and basic electrical or automation work. This role is ideal for someone who thrives learning across multiple disciplines and contributing wherever needed to sustain production and support NPI programs.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of hands-on tooling or manufacturing experience across at least one discipline.
  • Ability and willingness to learn multiple tooling disciplines.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, CAD models, and BOMs.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Adaptable to variable workflow, task switching, and multiple responsibilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Powerpoint

Nice To Haves

  • Exposure to measurement devices, quality, and inspection tooling.
  • Familiarity with SOLIDWORKS CAD models or understanding design intent.
  • Experience supporting NPI programs or production ramp-ups.
  • Generalist mindset with the ability to contribute to all aspects of tooling operations.
  • Committed to safety, continuous improvement, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate, maintain, and repair tooling across multiple disciplines:
  • o Hard tooling: CNC, manual machining, welding, and assembly
  • o Soft tooling: Fiberglass, carbon fiber, resin, epoxy, 3D printing
  • o Electrical/automation: Basic wiring, sensors, or tooling controls
  • Assist tooling engineers in implementing and validating designs for production.
  • Perform quality inspections and document deviations.
  • Support upstream process review, production trials, and downstream tool validation and buy-off.
  • Maintain proper document control, versioning, and engineering data management.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and shop-floor problem-solving.
