About The Position

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. The candidate must have advanced mechanical assembly skills, expertise in various material drilling, and hardware installation, along with the capability to fabricate, assemble, and modify structural assemblies. Collaboration with a team of experts in assembling precision tooling to impact rocket and space vehicle production is essential. Individuals should excel in dynamic environments, work effectively in cross-functional teams, prioritize continuous improvement, and contribute significantly to the history of space exploration with a commitment to safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Requirements

  • Over 6 years of experience in tooling fabrication and assembly, preferably in the aerospace industry.
  • Strong blueprint interpretation skills specific to tool assembly.
  • Detail-oriented, with a strong work ethic and effective communication abilities in fast-paced team environments.
  • Customer-focused mindset with proven teamwork skills across teams.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills to manage complex projects independently.
  • Familiarity with precision tools such as torque wrenches and micrometers.
  • Experience working with heavy equipment like cranes and forklifts.
  • Advanced mechanical assembly skills in hardware installation and tooling assembly, including working with large structural components involving drilling, fastening, grinding, shimming, among others.

  • Exposure to large tooling components.
  • Flexibility to work off-hours, overtime, or weekends if required.
  • Basic computer literacy, including knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office suites.
  • Previous experience in manual or CNC machining processes.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of fabrication and assembly of large structural components involving drilling, grinding, shimming, fastening, and torquing.
  • Install fluid and pneumatic components with precision.
  • Inspect all components and assemblies for blueprint conformance, including interpreting GD&T.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align work priorities with schedules and goals.
  • Ensure product quality and adherence to engineering specifications.
  • Facilitate design improvements for tooling fabrication.
  • Implement safety and efficiency enhancements in the assembly process.
  • Support mission objectives through dedicated duties.
  • Work in elevated or confined spaces as needed.
